MTechHub Releases IoT Tech Stack for COVID Safe Buildings 2021-04-07T22:16:25+00:00

Over the past year, supply chain issues, lockdowns, and outbreaks of COVID-19 have made things challenging for manufacturers. Now with new variant strains, outbreaks are even more of a pressing concern going forward. Factories have already implemented strategies to stop the spread, including temperature monitoring, PPE and rigorous cleaning regimes, but businesses are always looking for new and better solutions to help get back to “normal”.

We know people are infected through airborne virus transmission. How can you monitor your HVAC system to  prevent COVID-19 transmission in your facility?

According to the CDC,  your HVAC system plays a critical role in reducing COVID transmission. The CDC has released specific guidelines to control air borne transmission in the workplace: CDC Building Ventilation. These important recommendations include minimum outside airflow rates, temperature and humidity ranges and filtration minimums.

The CDC recommends that facilities keep their temperature at 24 degrees Celsius with a humidity between 40-60%RH. They also recommend that facilities be ventilated for 2 hours before and 2 hours after occupancy, which might not be possible for some facilities due to 24-hour work cycles. Plus, installing UV lights inside of ductwork is also recommended to kill viruses.

The MTechHub low-cost COVID Safe Buildings Tech stack ensures that your building remains in compliance 24/7 with all CDC recommendations. It helps prevent the spread of viruses and increase the health of your overall workforce. This tech stack can also be used for a variety of other applications around your facility to maximize efficiency, including machine monitoring and Green House Gas reporting.
